We descended in what we were told was the deepest point in the lake, achieving a depth of about 4.5 meters. The visibility was very poor with little surface light. The bottom was very soft, very deep silt, it was easy to place a torch into it and be in the dark.

We tried to proceed forward into clear water after the bottom got stirred, but as we were following Simon and Jane it only cleared in patches.

We surfaced and headed to the edge where more natural light could penetrate the shallower water there was a little broad leaf weed around the edge. We didn’t see any fish.
