26 January 2020 – Stoney Cove
LSAC’s Paul, James and Nigel head to Stoney Cove for a visit to the hydrobox in good visibility.
Dive 1:
- Divers: Paul, James and Nigel.
- Max Depth: 34.9M
- Dive Time: 45 minutes
- Water Temperature: 7C
- Viz: 8m shallow, 5m at depth.
This was James’s first dive past 20m as a qualified sport diver and Nigels first diver over 30m for a while. To ease into it it was decided that we would enter from the bus stop and swim down the ramp to the hydrobox.
The visibility was good at the hydrobox. Approximately 5m. All 3 swam through the box with Paul going first.
After the visit to the hydrobox we proceeded back up to the plane cockpit to look for the pike seen on the previous trip, but it wasn’t to be found. The dive then proceeded along the 6m ridgeline to the submarine and under the pub. There was a nice pike on the back wall behind Nessie praying on the smaller fish.
At this point, the planned 40mins had been reached at so it was time to get out. A brilliant dive.
