- Dive details: We descended down though the kelp to a sandy sea bed. We then went along the rocky island wall. Lots of spider crabs and edible crabs were in the cracks and crevices. 2 spotted dog fish were in the sea weed.
Nigel Powley.
We did a stride in entry off the boat, then descended (without a shot line) to hover just above the seabed, as 17 metres. We then explored the area, which was basically a rocky outcrop. Nigel led the dive, as there was some current around the rocks. We drifted alongside each other, rather than swimming against the current. We saw more fish today, including big white crabs, cat sharks, wrasse, starfish, black spiny anemones, yellow puffy sponges and a large lobster. Nigel was taking photographs. We found some dumped fishing line with lure, and some fishing weights. Julie collected the weights. At the end of the dive, Nigel deployed his DSMB and we both ascended to 6m. We did a 3-minute deco stop, then surfaced. We were picked up by our charter boat and got onto the boat by Lift. Julie gave the two fishing weights to the skipper.
