St Martins Haven, Wales – 30th April 2021
A small pebble beach used as the embarkation point for the Skomer Island boats.
There is plenty of activity as the beach is a favourite with divers heading out into the Skomer Marine Nature Reserve. It’s a very steep walk from the car park down to the beach. If you’re planning to visit, check out the tide times to make sure you’ve plenty of beach to play on and that you don’t get cut off by the incoming tide!
- Divers: Paul, Blaise
- Max Depth: 16.3 metres
- Dive Time: 68 minutes
- Water temperature: 10 degrees C
- Viz: 4 metres
- Dive Details: We swam out to the right hand side of the Haven, keen to explore that side, and we weren’t disappointed! Lots of nudibranchs, crabs, wrasse and pollack plus a very well camouflaged top knot. Blaise also spotted an interesting sea slug not often seen in the region (Geitodoris planata)
