We had pre-booked places for two boat dives on the Saturday with Dive Beyond who were based in Castletown, Portland. The first trip was at 9am so we parked in the pay & display car park next to the Aqua Hotel and checked into the Dive Beyond office just before 8:30.

We left Portland and drove towards Weymouth to investigate diving the wreck of the Royal Adelaide but decided against it and returned to Portland to dive Chesil Cove again.

The club rib Lowestoft Diver was quickly ready for a 10am launch. After checking other sites with the onboard echosounder it was decided we would dive the SS Artemisia. After a successful grapple we had our shot line now we just had to wait for slack tide.

Lowestoft Diver, the club RIB, was made ready and loaded with dive kit and then towed and launched into the sea ready for us to set off just before 9:30. The co-ordinates for the wreck of the Fulgens was set into the GPS and we soon arrived at the site.

We had planned to dive the chalk reef at Sheringham, but changed the plan to dive the wreck of the Rosalie instead at high tide early Friday morning.

4 members visited Gildenburgh to complete some Ocean Diver training. The weather was a little cool and a bit windy but there was only one other person there and he was swimming on the surface for a little while so they had the dive site to themselves for most of the day.
